The Guardian Scholars Program at Sacramento State recently received funding from Sleep Train.
“We are so thrilled and were not expecting such a generous gift from Sleep Train. It will benefit students and fill the gaps that financial aid and a lack of family support do not meet,” says Joy Salvetti, Program Director of Guardian Scholars. “Funding will allow our students to focus on their academics and help them succeed in college – which is the ultimate goal of the Program.”
“The generosity of our major sponsors allows us to make a significant impact in the lives of current and former California foster youth and help us support the Guardian Scholars Program at Sacramento State this year,” says Dale Carlsen, President of The Sleep Train, Inc. and Sacramento State alumnus.
The Guardian Scholars Program was created in 2006 to provide an integrated system of services for former foster youth attending Sacramento State. The Program offers assistance with year-round housing, academic and psychological counseling, mentorship, and other services that aid participants toward the successful completion of a college degree at the University.
